For a growing number of clients, Garlands now provides a broad range of back office as well as front office services. A good example is in the Legal Information products field where, through its relationship with MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA), Garlands has established a market-leading position in the production of Home Information Packs (HIPs).
Garlands was first approached by MDA Advantage, a leading provider of HIPs, Conveyancing Search and other Legal Information products to the housing industry in the UK and Ireland, in early 2007. And after initial discussions, it was appointed as one of MDA's three UK customer service partners assisting in the production of HIPs.
HIPs became mandatory on 14th December 2007 for all UK residential properties and are designed to speed up the process of home buying. MDA was one of the first companies to act on this new market opportunity by developing a highly automated solution that can simultaneously support a large numbers of HIP requests.
Every listing to market a home now requires the inclusion of such a Pack and Garlands works with MDA clients to answer calls, take requests, assemble the HIP components from various suppliers, ensure quality standards are maintained and produce HIPs within a reasonable timeframe.

In recognition of the success of the relationship, MDA Advantage has appointed Garlands as its SOLE external provider of customer contact services for HIP products in the UK and Ireland commencing late November 2008.
HIP Administration Officers, management and support staff working for MDA Advantage are based at Garlands' Middlesbrough contact centre in the North East of England.
