Care and Fun Clubs
Care Club
Care Club gives Garlands’ people the opportunity to put their opinions forward and be heard. If something is bothering them and they don't feel they can talk to their line manager about it, the chances are they can raise it at Care Club.
The Care Club at each Garlands’ site meets with Chief Executive Chey Garland every month to discuss issues and ideas.
Initiatives that have arisen from Care Club discussions have included: the Garlands’ Loyalty Awards (that recognise long service), improvements to Café del Mar facilities, and the provision of headset lockers.
Each contact centre suite has its own Care Club Captain, democratically elected by colleagues. Representatives from Employee Relations, Facilities and Communications also attend Care Club meetings. Employees can put their point(s) forward by either talking direct to their Captain or by putting a note in suggestion boxes in their contact centre suites.
Minutes are taken during Care Club meetings and loaded onto the Garlands’ intranet for all employees to see.
Fun Club
Fun Club is the heart and soul of Garlands’ social life. Recent Fun Club activities have included bowling, cinema trips, pool tournaments and paint balling.
The Fun Club also organises dress down days - sometimes to raise money for Garlands nominated charities, sometimes to raise money for Fun Club, and sometimes just for fun!
Employees are welcome to go to any Fun Club activities, regardless of where they are based. All they need do is contact their local Fun Club representative. And if anyone has an idea for a social event, they are encouraged to make a suggestion.
